About The Plant
Juniperus virginiana is a species of juniper native to eastern North America from southeastern Canada to the Gulf of Mexico and east of the Great Plains.
About The Oil
Cedarwood is one of the most popular essential oils in aromatherapy, loved for it’s deep, rich woody aroma. Interestingly, Virginian Cedarwood is actually from trees of the same family as Juniper, yet they have a distinct Cedar aroma. The oil is a deep reddish orange in color, with a rich and full-bodied aroma. Although very similar, Virginian Cedarwood is a little higher-noted than the Texas, which is very rich and full.
In New Mexico the Native Americans use cedarwood oil for skin rashes.
