About The Plant
Juniperus virginiana is a small, alpine evergreen tree which grows up to 23ft high with stiff green needles and an irregular, crooked or twisted trunk and branches.
About The Oil
Cedarwood is one of the most popular essential oils in aromatherapy, loved for it’s deep, rich and tenacious woody, balsamic aroma. Interestingly, Texan cedarwood is actually from trees of the same family as Juniper, yet they has a distinct Cedar aroma. The oil is a deep reddish orange in color, with a rich and full-bodied aroma. Although very similar, Virginian Cedarwood is a little higher-noted than the Texas, which is very rich and full.
In New Mexico the Native Americans use cedarwood oil for skin rashes.
